The Golf North Queensland committee and its member clubs extends its deepest condolences to the family,friends and clubmates of Charters Towers Golf Club members Oralene Glenwright and Maureen Jones, who tragically lost their lives last Saturday while travelling to participate in the Ladies Home Hill Open. Words cannot express the shock that has been felt by the entire NQ Golf Community.

For those wishing to attend, we have been informed that Maureen’s funeral will be held at 11.00am on Wednesday 8th May at the Catholic Church in Charters Towers, while Oralene’s funeral will be held at 11.00am on Thursday 9th May at the Charters Towers Golf Club.

The Charters Towers Golf Club have confirmed that their Ladies Open will go ahead as scheduled this Sunday.
